Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been associated with the government polio eradication campaign, has said that his granddaughter was given polio drops Tuesday in his presence.
"Day before yesterday (Tuesday), my little granddaughter was given polio drops in my presence," Amitabh Bachchan said here Thursday on being felicitated for his contribution to the polio eradication campaign.
The campaign has successfully managed to eradicate polio across India for nearly 15 months now.
Bachchan said: "We must ensure that there must be no case of polio for at least three consecutive years. We have just crossed one year and there is still a long way to go."
He further added: "As a parent, I can only ask you, request you and get angry on you to continue this very noble cause."
