Beyonce Knowles is an old-fashioned chanteuse and her husband Jay-Z a gangster-type in a sharp suit in the trailer for the special HBO episode that will showcase the couple's ongoing tour On The Run.
The 50-second teaser of the special episode is both sumptuous and sensual. It begins with Beyonce singing the classic song Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) , made famous by Nancy Sinatra and Cher, set in a quasi-noir background.
Beyonce is hands down sexy in a sequin dress, her face half-veiled in lace, singing to Jay-Z, who lounges about smoking a cigar modishly.
The later 20 seconds include snippets from Beyonce and Jay-Z's previous concerts and shows, including the (in)famous Grammys 2014.
Bang Bang was Cher's biggest solo hit of the 1960s, written by her then-husband Sonny Bono. The song resurfaced with various interpretations and one popular rendition was by Nancy Sinatra, who released her version of the song in the same year as Cher's - 1966. Beyonce's style follows Nancy Sinatra's in essence.
HBO will feature Beyonce and Jay-Z's final two performances from their On The Run tour in their special series to be aired on September 20.
