Sonam and Beyonce in a still from Hymn For The Weekend
New Delhi:
Beyonce and Coldplay make a colour splash as they celebrate Holi in the track Hymn For The Weekend, their collaboration from the album A Head Full Of Dreams released by the rock band on Friday. (Also Read: Sonam Kapoor Will be in a Coldplay Video. With Beyonce. Details Here)
The video features Queen Bey as a Bollywood star seen on TV sets and billboards and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin as her fanboy who heads to a theatre to watch her perform. Actress Sonam Kapoor appears in a cameo as a mystical muse of sorts, stunning in a Mayyur Girotra lehenga-choli.
The video comes just in time for Beyonce and Coldplay's Super Bowl Half Time performance on February 7. Beyonce looks stunning in a series of sensational outfits designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla - a plunging gold gown worn with a headdress and a red sari accessorised with antique jewellery.
An ecstatic Sonam tweeted she had a 'story to tell my grandkids':
Last July, Chris Martin caused quite a commotion when he made a surprise visit to a New Delhi cafe, treating the crowd to an impromptu performance. He was back in Mumbai in September with his bandmates - Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion - to shoot a video which 'would have something special for Indian fans.'
He was right.
