Farhan Akhtar shared a gratitude note as his sports biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag clocked a decade on Wednesday. The film is based on the Indian athlete and Olympian Milkha Singh. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Farhan Akhtar played the titular role in the movie. Sharing the specially designed (to mark the 10th anniversary of the movie) poster of the movie on his Instagram profile, the director-actor wrote a note. He mentioned that the film is as special to him as it is to the audience. Farhan Akhtar's caption read, "It's been 10 years since the release of a film that has meant a lot in my career and in my life. The fact that it also holds a dear place in your hearts is the cherry on top. Your love gave justification to the effort and sacrifices. Thank you from the bottom of my heart again.. and to Rakeysh for making me a part of celebrating the legendary Milkhaji."
Farhan Akhtar's post garnered comments from the Instafam. Farhan's sister filmmaker Zoya Akhtar wrote, "Best" and dropped a bunch of emojis. Another user commented, "After watching this movie, my father completed around a 100 marathons all over India." One user even declared it as the "Best biopic".

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film stars Divya Dutta, Meesha Shafi, Pavan Malhotra, Yograj Singh, Art Malik, and Prakash Raj in supporting roles along with Sonam Kapoor in a special appearance. Farhan Akhtar has again collaborated with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for the film Toofaan (2021) where Farhan played a boxing champion. However, the film received a mixed response at the box office.
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar will supposedly be directing Jee Le Zaara, headlined by Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. However, the film has not gone to the floors even after being announced in 2021.
