New Delhi: The Madhur Bhandarkar-Preeti Jain case has been adjourned to September 19.
In 2004, an FIR was filed against the National Award winning director by aspiring actress Preeti Jain, accusing him of rape. She claimed he had promised her a lead role in his movies.
The allegations drew instant controversy, with Madhur stoutly denying the charge.
In 2009, a local court ruled that the filmmaker would stand trial (after the Investigating Officer earlier found Jain's FIR false).
