Highlights

  • The Big B certainly seems to be having sleepless nights, not just over the controversy surrounding daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai's pregnancy, but also over the rather lukewarm response at the box-office to Bbuddah… Hoga Tera Baap. However the Big B still seems to be keen on a sequel to the film which has been produced by AB Corp.
  • The Big B refuses to comment further on the raging controversy surrounding Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's pregnancy and the fall-out it has had on her producers. However, while Aishwarya herself has remained mum on the topic, the Big B has made his view rather clear in a recent interview to a Mumbai- based daily.
  • “Everybody knew that Aishwarya was married when she signed the film. So you mean to say that actors can't get married or have children? I don't think this can be a part of any contract that you cannot get married or have children if you working in a project,” he said.
  • But it’s not just the recent storm his son and daughter-in-law have found themselves in that are rumoured to be bothering the Big B who was in Ahmedabad for a promotional event for Bbuddah… Hoga Tera Baap, which to some looked like a last-ditch attempt at publicity for the film which hasn't exactly been doing stellar business at the box-office.
  • “We have had a very small budget for this film, about 10 or 10 and a half crore, and we have recovered about 75 per cent of the cost already, even before the film has been released. And with your blessings I am sure we will do well,” he said.
  • Despite the lukewarm response, the Big B remains enthused over a sequel. “We have made this film keeping in mind we will make a sequel to it. However, the way in which the film ended, in an emotional and soft note, many viewers feel the same way but I will leave the decision to Puri Jagannath. If he decides to have one, I’ll be willing to work,” he says.
  • Well let’s just hope this sequel doesn't end up releasing the same Friday as the rumoured sequel to Aamir Khan’s Delhi Belly!
