Bigg Boss 10: Rohan Mehra in a still from show
New Delhi:
"With great power comes great responsibility," said Uncle Ben in Spider-Man. But that's clearly not the motto captain Rohan Mehra abides by while performing his duties in Bigg Boss 10. Rohan, who became a household name after his stint in television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, was branded a 'dictator' by fellow housemate and well-wisher Lopamudra Raut on the first day of his captaincy. At that time, Rohan had arbitrarily sent Manu Punjabi and Manveer Gurjar to jail and failed to provide a valid reason when the others asked. In the episode which aired on November 23, Rohan's performance as the captain of the house sank lower. Here are five things he did wrong on last night's episode.
#1. Threatening Nitibha Kaul
After a feud with Swami Om, Nitibha appealed to Rohan to take action against the self-styleed godman who called her "cheap" and even threatened to slap her. Rohan, instead of pacifying Nitibha, asked her to stay out of trouble as she is nominated for next week's eviction process. Clearly not the best way to with the situation, Rohan?
#2. A Captain Who Can't Guide
From being a 'dictator' to being bullied by the participants, how did that even happen? Rohan, who is in the good books of Swami Om, was unable to get him out of the makeshift goldmine for the luxury budget task so that everyone gets a fair chance to participate. At any given point only two people were allowed inside the gold mine and Swami Om just got a little too comfy and did not allow others to participate and Rohan was of no help.
#3 Favouritism Towards Lopamudra Raut
Lopamudra and Rohan have been on excellent terms and that's probably why the captain had no issues when Lopamudra wasted time here and there and even danced for him in his office. (PS: Lopamudra had a secret task to steal half of the gold collected by the contestants). Nitibha also accused Rohan saying he was biased towards Lopamudra while the other two laughed it off.
#4 Favouritism Towards Swami Om
Rohan couldn't get Swami Om to budge from the gold mine but he also did not reprimand him for behaving inappropriately with Nitibha, as he ought to have done as captain. He failed to resolve every fight which involved Swami Om, as he did not want to speak against him.
#5 Selfish Captain
Nitibha and Swami Om's fight showed a lot about Rohan's assessment ability. He was only interested in getting the task at hand completed as swiftly as possible instead of standing up for what's right. Swami Om faced flak for his misogynistic views earlier from host Salman Khan and at that time Salman also pulled up the others for not correcting Swami Om when required. It seems, Rohan hasn't learnt the lesson or he just wants his captaincy renewed.
Currently, Bigg Boss houses 10 participants divided into two teams - Celebs and Indiawale. Rahul Dev, Gaurav Chopra, Lopamudra Raut, Rohan Mehra, Monalisa and VJ Bani make up team celebs while Manu Punjabi, Manveer Gurjar, Nitibha Kaul and Swami Om make up team Indiawale.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Jagga, who was eliminated in the first week, will re-enter the house with a new strategy. She will re-join team Indiawale. International supermodel Jason Shah, Russian model-actor Elena Kazan and Indian actor Sahil Anand will strengthen team celebs. Sahil is also VJ Bani's competitor from MTV Roadies.
