Salman reportedly takes Rs 11 crore to host Bigg Boss
'Salman doesn't come that cheap,' said channel boss
Recently, at the event to launch Bigg Boss 11, Salman and Colors CEO Raj Nayak were asked if Salman really charged Rs 11 crore to host the show. Raj Nayak replied, "Salman doesn't come that cheap," reported Indian Express. There must be truth in Mr Nayak's statement because Salman Khan landed on the second spot on Forbes' list of Highest Paid Bollywood Actors in 2017. The list, which released last month, calculated Salman Khan's yearly earnings at $37 million - this included his fees for Sultan but not Tubelight. In addition, Salman's fat pay cheque is also strengthened by several endorsement deals and of course, Bigg Boss.
Salman Khan has hosted six out of 10 seasons of the controversial reality show. "There is nothing else that I am interested in doing, this is one of the better shows that I have. There are other really good shows but I don't think they are of my format. I don't think I'll be able to pull that off. I know I can pull this one off," Salman told PTI.
Salman Khan also hosted a quiz show Dus Ka Dum, which failed to fetch favourable TRPs but Salman said the show "worked well" for him. "I need that vibe, that touch with different personalities, with common man. I need that (grassroots) connect. Till the time I don't have a connect, I don't think I can pull anything off," he said.
Bigg Boss 11 will air on television from October 1.
