Popular reality show Bigg Boss' next season may get a new location, reports news agency IANS. With the exception of season 5, all other seasons of Bigg Boss were shot in Lonavala. Bigg Boss season 5, which was co-hosted by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, was shot in Karjat, Gujarat. The makers of Bigg Boss have filmed all other seasons in Lonavala. Filmmaker Omung Kumar, who has been tasked with designing the sets of the show with his wife Vanita, for seven years told Cine Speaks that the location is shifting from Lonavala to a new place, reported IANS. A lavish set for the Bigg Boss contestants is erected every year based on a unique theme of the season.
The Bigg Boss house, which is fortified by high boundary walls, comprises state-of-art facilities including a gym among other things for the housemates.

Bigg Boss, which is based on the format of Dutch show Big Brother, has been hosted by Salman Khan starting season 4 till the last season 12. The first three seasons were hosted by Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty (also the winner of UK's Celebrity Big Brother) and Amitabh Bachchan in that order.
In the show, several celebrities are invited to stay in Bigg Boss' house without any connection to the outside world. The housemates are given several tasks during their stay in the show, which eventually determines the winner. Starting season 10, Bigg Boss opened the gates of the house to non-celebs.
