The move comes after the makers of Ek Thi Daayan and AnyBody Can Dance suggested plans to visit Maha Kumbh

Bollywood stars have been askedto refrain from visiting the ongoing Maha Kumbh here forpromotion of their upcoming films by the administration, whichhas advised them to schedule private visits, if any, on daysother than the main bathing festivals.
"Since we do not want any stampede-like situation at thecongregation, we are going to write to various filmmakers whomay be planning to visit the congregation along with theircast and crew members," Divisional Commissioner of AllahabadDevesh Chaturvedi told PTI.
"We are going to make it clear that no promotionalactivity by those in the film industry will be allowed at theKumbh. They may, however, visit the congregation privately fortaking a holy dip at the Sangam or participating in religiousdiscourses.
"They will have to ensure that their tour remainsinconspicuous, without any fanfare and they must not come onmain bathing festivals like Mauni Amavasya (February 10) andBasant Panchmi (February 15) when the influx of visitors tothe city is exceptionally higher than usual," Chaturvedi said.
He, however, added, "Film personalities may undertakepublicity work in parts of the cities that are not in thevicinity of the Kumbh area, on days other than the bathingfestivals."
The move comes in the wake of a visit proposed by BalajiMotion Pictures alongwith lead actors Emraan Hashmi and HumaQureshi, composer Vishal Bharadwaj and producer Ekta Kapoor onFebruary 10, coinciding with Mauni Amavasya, to take a holydip besides promoting their upcoming release Ek Thi Daayan.
It was also reported that choreographer-filmmaker PrabhuDeva was planning a promotional event for upcoming film AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD), in which he is also playing the lead,at the Kumbh.
