Los Angeles:
Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is opening a new charity restaurant, Soul Kitchen, to help fight hunger in New Jersey.
The diner features a pay-what-you-can system, which allows patrons to offer up the amount of cash they feel is appropriate to cover their meal, reported E! online.
Customers who don't have money to contribute can instead lend a hand with cleaning duties.
Bon Jovi's Soul Foundation will subsidise the location to keep the property afloat.
The musician will be heavily involved in the project, but behind the scenes - because he simply "can't cook".
"Last Friday, I was at the White House, serving on the Council for Community Solutions, got on a train, changed in the bathroom and got here in time to wash dishes Friday night. I'm the dishwasher, for real. I can't cook a lick," he said.
