Boyband Singer James McElvar Passes Out After Wearing Layers of Clothes to Avoid Baggage Charges

Boyband Singer James McElvar Passes Out After Wearing Layers of Clothes to Avoid Baggage Charges
New Delhi: James McElvar, a singer with the Scottish band Rewind, thought he was having a 'heart attack' when he collapsed from heat exhaustion after wearing all his clothes in an attempt to avoid the charges for excess baggage.

According to a report in The Sun, James, 19, emptied a bag and put on all its contents including jumpers, jeans and jackets. He shed them once the plane was airborne but became violently ill and suffered a fit.

The Sun quotes James as saying, "I thought I was a goner and that I was having a heart attack.

"The woman said either one bag went in the hold or we weren't getting on. The rest of the band had gone through so I couldn't give them any of the clothes. I was told I'd either have to pay a £45 fee to get it on the plane, get the flight the next morning, bin the clothes or wear them."

James and members of his boyband were on their way to from Stansted, Essex, to their native hometown Glasgow on Wednesday.

The band later tweeted of the incident:
