New Delhi: The much-awaited trailer of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's movie Brahmastra was released on Wednesday. Ever since the trailer has released, the fans have been going gaga over it. Now that the trailer is out, Brahmastra's director Ayan Mukerji revealed what caused the delay and how Ranbir Kapoor was involved. Speaking to the Times of India, Ayan said that when Ranbir was supposed to start the prep for Brahmastra, he chose to start Sanju first, and this made him angry.
"When I started the prep for Brahmastra, Ranbir was offered Sanju. He was supposed to start prep with me, but he chose to start Sanju first. I was so angry. I was happy that he was working with Raju Hirani but what about my project?," Times of India quoted Ayan Mukerji.
Ayan Mukerji added that he's happy that Ranbir took the right decision because even after the release of Sanju, he wasn't able to complete the pre-production of Brahmastra. He said, "But in hindsight, I'm glad Ranbir chose to work on Sanju because, a few years later, Sanju was shot, edited and ready for release and my pre-production hadn't even completed. Had Ranbir waited for me, it would've been too long a wait."
It will be Ayan Mukerji's third consecutive movie with Ranbir Kapoor after Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Ayan Mukerji also revealed his plans for the shooting of the second and third parts of Brahmastra. Speaking to the Times of India, he said, "We will plan the shooting of the second and third part after the release of the first film." He added, "The entire trilogy will tell the same story but the next movies will introduce new characters and bring new perspectives to the Brahmastra story."
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
