Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra opened to largely positive reviews from film critics as well as the audience. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role, managed to collect Rs 39.5 crore on Sunday alone, Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday. Sharing the net box office collection of the Hindi version of the fantasy film so far, Taran Adarsh wrote: "Brahmastra has a fabulous weekend. Nett box office. Day 1: Rs 31.5 cr+ Day 2: Rs 37.5 cr+ Day 3: Rs 39.5 cr+." In his tweet, Taran Adarsh also shared the collection of the regional version of the film and added, "Final total could be higher... India biz. National chains superb...Day 1: Rs 17.15 cr est. Day 2: Rs 20.73 cr est. Day 3: Rs 21.63 cr est." If those are not impressive numbers, we don't know what are.

Meanwhile, the film's lead actor Ranbir Kapoor, along with director Ayan Mukerji, visited a theatre in Mumbai over the weekend, where he said, "I am extremely happy and proud of this man (Ayan) standing here next to me. He has worked with a lot of dedication, hardwork and love. And this is the best feeling. We all have come back to the cinemas. We loved seeing the emotions here. We feel loved, entertained. People are laughing, clapping. This is what cinemas is all about and we are happy to be back at the cinemas."
Brahmastra, also starring Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna, opened to largely positive reviews. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, gave the film a 3-star rating and he wrote: "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, ambitious and entertaining, has the makings of a blockbuster of the sort that Bollywood has been desperately seeking for a while."
