The Bollywood actor helped nab a thief who had entered his girlfriend Soha Ali Khan's flat while they were lounging in her first floor apartment in Khar on Friday night.

- Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector Sachin Jadhvar informed that Khemu had come to Khar police station to register an FIR against an unknown intruder. "The thief was trying to break in when the residents heard some noises coming from the balcony. Sensing he would be apprehended, the thief attempted to escape from the first floor balcony. But he slipped and fell. After receiving a call from the resident, we sent our constables to arrest the thief."
- Recalling the incident, a friend of the couple said, "Kunal and Soha had gone for a preview of the first copy of his forthcoming film. After the show, they rode back on Kunal's bike to Soha's residence to have dinner. After dinner, they were chatting when a din from the balcony startled them. When Kunal went to check what the noise was about, he saw a man trying to escape."
- While Kunal couldn't catch the intruder, the thief, fearing he would be caught, lost control and fell down. But before he could get up and run away, the actor sprinted down the stairway and nabbed him.
- "Soha was quite shaken by the incident. So Kunal stayed on till late to comfort her. And only when he was assured that she was okay, he left for home," added the friend.
