She has always been anobedient daughter but Bristol Palin seemed ready to step outof her mother Sarah Palin's shadow as she performed a racyparody of the controversial Republican leader on the hitreality show Dancing With The Stars.
The 19-year-old single mother began her dance routineto the rather pointed song choice, Randy Newman's Mama ToldMe Not To Come, wearing a grey office power suit, a clearsend-up of her conservative politician mother.
She soon stripped it off to reveal a provocative reddress with tassels, reported Daily Mail online.
"I've always been close to my mum growing up butsometimes I haven't and this song plays on that," said Bristolduring the recording which was not attended by any of herfamily members.
Bristol and her then boyfriend Levi Johnson famouslyrevealed they were expecting a baby while her mother wasrunning as a US vice-presidential candidate in 2008.
It caused some embarrassment for Sarah, who had alwaysadvocated the virtue of no sex before marriage.
Relations between the Palins and Johnston becamestrained after the couple broke off their first engagementsoon after son Tripp was born in December 2008.
It devolved into a messy tabloid drama as Johnstonposed nude for Playgirl and talked badly about Sarah ininterviews.
Bristol, who is now a public advocate for abstinence,defied her mother earlier this year when she brieflyreconciled with Johnston. However the reunion did not lastlong and they split in August.
Sarah meanwhile took to Twitter to say that she wasproud of her daughter's performance.
"Over-the-moon excited and happy for Bristol! Cheeringher on at DWTS party in the Palin living room," she tweeted.
