Los Angeles:
Pop star Britney Spears hasbeen banned from owning a mobile phone amid fears that shecould be heading towards another meltdown, reported the Sunonline.
It is thought owning her own phone could land the29-year-old singer in trouble, so those close to her haveremoved it to keep her "under control", the newspaper said.
The Toxic hitmaker, who has been under a legalconservatorship following her 2008 breakdown - which gives herfather Jamie control over all her affairs - has had a numberof conditions placed upon her in order to stop her fromgetting out of control.
"Britney's inner-circle keep a close eye on her toensure she keeps herself together. One of the rules is shegave up her cell phone. That helps them keep her undercontrol," a source said.
The move comes after the star, who has sons - SeanPreston, five and Jayden James, four, with ex-husband KevinFederline - was accused by her former bodyguard FernandoFlores of sending him nude pictures of herself from her phone, and then threatened to use them in a lawsuit against her.
In March, the pop superstar said that she didn't haveaccess to a mobile device.
"I don't own a cell phone," Spears had said.Meanwhile, her conservatorship is set to remain inplace for the rest of the year.
"The conservatorship won't be ending this year becauseeverything is going well. Britney is on tour again, which shetruly loves. This would be the worst time to make a change, while she is on the road, and is in unfamiliar surroundings.
"There is just no reason for the conservatorship toend this year. The worst thing that could happen is that itends, and Britney reverts back to her old ways, that wouldtruly gut Jamie," the source added.
