Los Angeles: Music producer Calvin Harris has broken his silence on his split from singer Taylor Swift, saying that the former couple still has "love and respect" amid reports that he was "jealous" of the singer.
Calvin confirmed the break-up on Twitter.
While initial reports cited an amicable split, it was later claimed that Calvin just couldn't handle the singer's superstar status, reported
"Calvin said on multiple occasions that he was intimidated by Taylor, which is why he would not attend any events where she was being honored, or any award shows unless he was nominated," Taylor's friend told .
But Taylor is holding her head high, adds the pal. "Taylor is an independent young woman, and she realizes it will take a very secure man to handle her success," says her friend.
Earlier in March this year, they celebrated their one-year anniversary marked the occasion with a tropical vacation together.
