Mumbai: Actor Amitabh Bachchan said that it has been 47 years since he gave his first film audition for Khwaja Ahmad Abbas-directed movie Saat Hindustani, which was his debut movie.

"On the 15th of February 1969 I walked into the office of Khwaja Ahmed Abbas for an audition for a role in a film he was making, Saat Hindustani. It was my first film. 47 years have gone by today," the 73-year-old actor posted on his blog on Tuesday.

The Wazir actor also shared that his film Agneepath in which he played the legendary role of Vijay Deenanath Chavan along with co-stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi, Neelam Kothari, Rohini Hattangadi and Danny Denzongpa, clocked 26 years on February 14.

Agneepath was a Yash Johar-directed movie whose title was taken from a poem penned by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Big B's father. The poem was recited at the beginning of the movie. (Also Read: Meet Amitabh Bachchan's '3 Beauties,' as Rare and Valued as Orchids)
