Carey Mulligan bags role in Shame

London: Oscar-nominated actress Carey Mulligan is all set to star inSteve McQueen's new movie Shame.

The 25-year-old British actress has reportedly signed up to appear in the project which will see Michael Fassbender inthe lead role, reported Contactmusic.

The movie narrates the story of Brandon (Fassbender), a 30-something New Yorker, who is struggling with sex addiction and how he reaches out to his close ones to cope with the problem.

Mulligan, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 'An Education,' is being lined up to play Sissy, Brandon's troubled sister.

The movie, written by McQueen and Abi Morgan, will start shooting in New York for six weeks in January, Contactmusic reported.

25-year-old Mulligan recently won the lead role in Baz Luhrmann's version of the The Great Gatsby.

According to reports, the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star burst into tears upon being told the news.
