London: French actress Brigitte Bardot is miffed with France's first lady Carla Bruni and has slammed as someone who is "badly brought-up".

Bardot,75, a devoted animal activist, had send Bruni, 42, a special edition Lancel bag from the new BB range made in her honour.

The And God Created Woman actress admired Bruni for shunning fur in public and sent the bag as a gift but the former supermodel failed to thank Bardot, prompting the angry reaction, the Daily Mail reported.

"I have received no thank you note whatsoever from Carla Bruni, who is as beautiful as she is badly brought-up," the former pin-up told France Dimanche magazine in an interview.

The actress is also angry that Bruni has not put pressure on her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy,to try to outlaw bull fighting in the south of France.

"I would like, before I die, to see the changes I've always fought for being made. If not, my life will have been worth nothing. But I'm like a pit bull - when I start to bite someone I dont let go easily," Bardot said.

The actress said she wrote a scathing letter to Sarkozy earlier this month but recieved vague responses from his office.

"My anger is only just starting! I've been waiting for him to deliver on his promises for more than three years. I've only received vague and unconvincing responses, in the image of the person who wrote them. And, sadder still, no response from the President."
