Sunny Leone in a still from Mastizaade.
Mumbai:
Mastizaade director Milap Zaveri is glad that the censor board did not cut a single scene from his upcoming adult comedy film even though it initially denied a certificate to the movie.
"There's no scene of the film that they (censor board members) have cut and thrown out. I'm grateful to them that they understood that it's an adult film, which is made for adults. We've even put the disclaimer, 'athra ke neeche khatra', to say that we haven't made it for those under 18," the director said.
Milap zaveri said that he made Mastizaade, "Because people who liked Grand Masti, want to watch more films like these. And if the 'masti' in this film is trimmed then there is no point making it." (Also Read: Sunny Leone 'Hopes' to Promote Mastizaade on Bigg Boss)
"We did not give up. We wanted the film approved the way we made it. So we didn't accept things. We kept discussing and debating with the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). I don't think any adult comedy, not even in Grand Masti, this madness has been passed," he added.
According to reports, the film was denied a censor certificate in May and was given an 'A' certificate only in August this year. A teaser of the film had gone viral earlier.
"I had taken extra shots, alternate shots and all these things that you see in the promo is there in the film, passed, certified and censored," he said.
The film features Sunny Leone in a double role and also stars Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das.
