Madhur Bhandarkar had received a National Award for Chandni Bar.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who received National Award for Chandni Bar, says the 2001 film transformed his life.
The movie, starring Tabu and Atul Kulkarni, completed 13 years on Sunday and the director got nostalgic.

Madhur, also known for helming films like Fashion, Page 3 and Corporate, last directed the 2012 movie Heroine featuring Kareena Kapoor.
He is now working on his new project Calendar Girls with new faces. He earlier said that his endeavor with Calendar Girls is to offer purposeful entertainment to movie buffs.
