Los Angeles:
Actor Charlie Sheen's former fiancee, Scottine Ross, has filed suit against him claiming assault and battery, as well as emotional distress and negligence for not disclosing his HIV status when they first engaged in physical intimacy in 2013, reports variety.com.
Mr Sheen disclosed on the Today Show last month that he is HIV positive and acknowledged that the revelation may lead to litigation. But he denied that he avoided disclosing his status to his sexual partners.
In her lawsuit filed on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Ms Ross' attorney claimed that in late October or early November, Mr Sheen's attorney attempted to resolve her claims for $1 million, which was to be paid on December 2. The lawsuit claimed that Ms Ross also would have been assigned five percent of his 100 percent backend participation points on the series Anger Management.
Ms Ross also claimed that in the early stage of their relationship, she and Mr Sheen engaged in sexual encounters at least five times before she discovered the medication for the treatment of HIV in his cabinet.
"If Mr Sheen had disclosed to plaintiff that he was HIV positive when they met for the very first time, plaintiff never would have engaged in sexual encounters with him, and the resulting relationship between the two would never have occurred," her suit stated. After a "heart to heart" talk with him, she agreed to stay in a relationship with him.
