Reacting to the Madras High Courtorder putting on hold the release of his film Aarakashantill an amount of Rs 3.71 crore borrowed by the producer isreturned to the financiers, director Prakash Jha said thecheque bouncing issue has "nothing to do with the film."
"Prakash Jha Productions is the sole rights-holder ofAarakshan. All rights and authority regarding the businessof Aarakshan are vested with Prakash Jha Productions.
"The cheque-bouncing issue is between Feroze A.Nadiadwala and Sushil Gupta. It has nothing to do withAarakshan. Nadiadwala is sorting it out. Aarakshan willrelease worldwide on August 12 as per schedule," Jha said,after the court ruling.
The film, produced and directed by Jha, stars AmitabhBachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
It is already embroiled in a controversy with theNational Commission for Scheduled Castes dubbing it asanti-dalit. Some political leaders have also expressed theirreservation over the subject of the movie.
