London: Hollywood actor Richard Gere washurt when he missed out on an Oscar for his performance in thehit movie musical Chicago after all his famous co-starsearned Academy nominations for their work in the film.

The actor, 63, said on a TV show recently that he hasnever paid much attention to awards, but when co-starsCatherine Zeta-Jones, Queen Latifah, Renee Zellweger and JohnC Reilly all landed nominations in the run-up to the 2003Oscars, he felt left out, reported Daily Express online.

Gere, who played singing and dancing lawyer-for-hireBilly Flynn in the film, said, "The only time it reallybothered me was in Chicago. Everyone else got nominated. I'mwaiting for my name (to be read out in the nominations) and itgoes right by me, like, 'Wow, what happened?' I have to admit,that got to me."

Zeta-Jones was the only one to claim gold at theceremony, while the film also landed five other honours,including Best Picture, Best Film Editing and Best CostumeDesign.
