Los Angeles:
Pop icon Cher's hand imprint ceremony was interrupted by some very high profile tourists, the Chilean miners who became global heroes after surviving in a collapsed mine for more than two months.
A celebrity's hand and footprints being immortalized outside the Grauman's Chinese Theatre is one of Hollywood's highest honours. Cher was the recipient of the plaudit last night in Los Angeles.
But she was overshadowed by the rescued Chilean miners who happened to be passing by in a tour bus during the ceremony, and started cheering and waving when they spotted the singer.
The 33 miners, who were rescued in October after more than two months trapped underground, and their partners sang and chanted as their double-decker bus drove through Hollywood
Boulevard.
The group landed in Los Angeles on Thursday to attend the CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute event.
If Cher was irritated by the interruption, she didn't show it, happily continuing with the ceremony.
The 64-year-old chose a typically racy outfit for the occasion, wearing a sheer black dress and towering heels.
