Popular playback singer Chinmayi has been selected for the prestigious Nandi award, instituted by the Andhra Pradesh Government for the Telugu movie Ye Maaya Chesaave.
The movie is a remake of Tamil-hit Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Chinmayi has sung hit songs in Tamil, including the blockbuster Rajnikanth starrer Endhiran.The Chennai-based singer will receive the Best Dubbing Artist-Female Award from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at a function in Hyderabad next month, a release here said.
The Nandi Awards are the most prominent awards in Telugu films, Telugu theater and television. A state panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry.
