Chennai:
Telugu superstar-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's son-in-law G Sirish Bharadwaj has got bail in the Nampally Courts today.
Last week (July 27), the police had booked a case against Sirish, after Chiranjeevi's younger daughter Srija lodged a complaint against him, to which Sirish had surrendered.
Srija had shocked her family by eloping with Shirish and marrying him in 2007. The couple had even approached a court seeking protection from Chiranjeevi.
Chiranjeevi, President of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP), and his wife later accepted the marriage after Srija gave birth to a baby girl. Their daughter Nivrithi is two and a half years old.
In her complaint, Srija, 23, said her husband started harassing her ever since she mended fences with her parents. She alleged that her husband and mother-in-law had even physically assaulted her. She also added that her husband asked her to bring Rs. 50 lakh from her parents.
