Los Angeles:
The 58-year-old model and her architect husband split in 2008 after 12 years of marriage when Cook cheated on her with an 18 year old, but have continued to fight about money and accusations of rude email sending.
However, ahead of a trial due to start tomorrow (26.06.12), the pair have finally managed to reach an agreement, and she admits she is glad with the final settlement.
She wrote on her Facebook page: "In a late night settlement, I finally won the right to establish boundaries with provisions such as an intermediary to deal with email bullying, verbal and emotional abuse.
"I had a prenup, a confidentiality agreement, and a 'civility clause' that all cost a lot of money, but were for all intents and purposes ignored and useless against the extended character assassination and extortion attempts I have endured."
However, Peter claims he was happy as it proves she was trying to extort money from him.
His lawyer James Winkler said in a statement: "Ms. Brinkley has publicly stated that Mr. Cook was attempting to extort money from her but this settlement demonstrates it was she was wrongfully attempting to extort money from him.
"The settlement we reached proves Ms. Brinkely's claims were baseless and that a hearing would have only proved to be a further embarrassment for her."
The settlement includes a rule which means the pair are not allowed to have any verbal contact with each other.
Christie has been married four times and she has three children, one of whom she had naturally with Peter, 14-year-old Sailor, and one who was adopted by him - Jack, who is now 17.
