Chunky Pandey: Mimicked Tigmanshu for <i>Bullett Raja</i> role

Los Angeles: Actor Chunky Pandey, who hasplayed the character of London Tiwari in Tigmanshu Dhulia'sBullett Raja, says he mimicked the filmmaker for this role.

The 51-year-old actor also says that he was surprised whenoffered a role in the movie, which the national-award winningfilmmaker especially penned down for Chunky.

"I don't belong to Tigmanshu's kind of films. When hecalled me I though somebody is playing a prank with me. Hewanted me to bring a newness to the character of LondonTiwari. He wrote it so brilliantly that the whole thing becamevery easy for me. He is good actor too so I just mimicked himfor this role," Chunky told PTI.

Set in Lucknow, the film, which is releasing today, is astory of a local mafia and stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinhaand Jimmy Shergill in prominent roles.

Chunky says he is already getting appreciation from theindustry for his unique character.

"My character is on the lines of the roles played byactors like Kanhaiyalal and Jeevan. Vishal Bhardwaj and AnuragKashyap congratulated me after seeing the promo of the film,"he said.

Having started his career as a supporting actor in 1987film Aag Hi Aag, Chunky shot to fame with Anil Kapoorstarrer Tezaab. Since, then he has appeared in many films.Chunky also worked in Bangladeshi Cinema and most of hismovies in Bangladesh are successful.

"I get bored of things very quickly. I was getting similarroles in Bollywood after a point of time and there was nothingexciting about it. So, I shifted my base to Bangladeshi films,But one day my wife told me that I should be back to my rootsbecause there is a generation who doesn't know who ChunkyPanday is!" he said.

The actor returned to Bollywood as a comic hero andstarred in series of comedies including Apna Sapna MoneyMoney, Housefull, Tees Maar Khan, Ready among others.

Apart from Bullett Raja, Chunky is also excited abouthis upcoming project Disco Valley, a sex-comedy based on thelast day of the world.

He will also be seen in Satish Kaushik's Gang of Ghostin which his character is a tribute to veteran actor K LSaigal. Chunky is also starring in Sajid Khan's Himmatwala.
