Boring weekend ahead as cinema halls to stay shut in Kerala

Cinema theatres in Kerala will down shutters tomorrow as part of a token strike to protest against the increased power tariff.
If there was no favourable response from the government, all theatres in the state would be shut indefintely from October 17, Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation Secretary M C Bobby said in a statement here.
The federation also demanded that the maintenance charge of Rs 2 should be increased to Rs 5 and Malayalam films should be exempted from entertainment tax.
