London:
Hollywood actress Claire Danes makes a much anticipated return to US TV screens with the drama 'Homeland.'
Danes, 32, who shot to fame in 1996 playing Juliet in Baz Luhrmann's Shakespeare adaptation 'Romeo & Juliet, was last seen on a small screen playing Angela Chase in the 1994 teen drama series 'My So-Called Life', reported Contactmusic.
Seventeen years later and with a number of successful film roles under her belt, the actress has now returned to play a bi-polar CIA officer in the forthcoming drama.
'Homeland' is set post-9/11 where Danes' character Carrie Anderson is convinced the rescue of a US soldier is a set up and fears terrorist repercussions.
"I don't really spend much time thinking about seducing an audience or protecting her status as being appealing or likeable. I find the challenge is finding a way to play the truth of her being chemically unstable and also a really proficient, highly capable CIA agent," she said.
