Los Angeles: Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has paid tribute to Amy Winehouse by performing thechorus of her popular track Rehab.
The rock band performed at Los Angeles Tennis Center on Wednesday when they chose to honour Winehouse, who was found dead in her North London home on July 23, said TheHollywood Reporter.
Seated at the piano for a three-song encore, Martin delivered the prophetic line, which goes as, "They tried to make me go to rehab and I said no, no, no..."
The Winehouse moment preceded the band's hit Fix You which was originally written for Martin's wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, after the death of her father Bruce in 2002.
The track was followed by Coldplay's latest single, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall and capped off the 90-minute show, which debuted several new songs including, MajorMinus, Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown.
Martin remarked during the show that it had been two years since his band last played in LA and asked fans to blog about whether they liked the songs or not.
