New Delhi: Coldplay, who apparently just filmed a new music video in Mumbai quietly, unwittingly caused a traffic jam on Twitter on Thursday. Everyone was trolling everyone else, without mercy and with professional wit.

Should you not have spent your afternoon on Twitter, you might currently be laboring under the impression that the Chris Martin-fronted Coldplay - only one of the biggest rock bands in the world - is playing at musician Vishal Dadlani's Mumbai home tonight. That particular untruth is particularly easy to believe because Vishal Dadlani was among the chief instigators of the secret gig Chris Martin played at New Delhi's Summer House Cafe in July.

As those of you who did log onto Twitter earlier in the day will know, it all started with a single tweet from comedian Kanan Gill which snowballed into a mega-storm of trolling anybody willing to suspend disbelief. Photoshop was involved, as were the comedy collective AIB who were also in on the July Summer House episode.

There was a whole lot more. As a news report speculated whether Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is coming to India, life came full circle with Gaurav Kapur providing closure of sorts:

A mid-day report states that the British rock band is shooting a music video in Worli and also played Holi with local children.

PS - If Coldplay do show up at Vishal Dadlani's tonight as an epic postscript, he may not be around to play host:
