Actor Colin Firth is all setto be honoured by Queen Elizabeth II for his Oscar winningportrayal of her father in The King's Speech.
The 50-year-old actor, who bagged the Academy awardfor his performance as the stuttering King George VI in theBritish drama, will be appointed a Commander of the Order ofthe British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his services todrama, reported Contactmusic.
Firth, who has starred in movies like Bridget Jones'sDiary, Mamma Mia and A Single Man, has reportedlyimpressed the monarch with his portrayal of her father'sbattle to overcome a speech impediment.
Besides Firth, singer and songwriter Bryan Ferry hasalso received a CBE. Others like golfer Lee Westwood, cricketcaptain Andrew Strauss, artist Sam Taylor-Wood and jazz singerClaire Martin will each receive an OBE (Officers of the Orderof the British Empire).
