Oscar winning actor Colin Firth has been invited to a high-profile dinner date, the Buckingham Palace soiree being thrown by Queen Elizabeth II for visiting head of state, US President Barack Obama.
The 50-year-old actor, who won the Academy award for his performance as the stuttering King George VI in the British drama The King's Speech, has been invited along with his wife, Livia, reported Daily Star online.
The party, at the monarch's London residence on 25 May, is to celebrate the American leader's visit to the UK.
Firth, who will be meeting the Queen for the first time, is also keen to get the opinion of the royal lady on his performance.
