Filmmaker Hansal Mehta's film Aligarh will release on February 26 next year.
Set in a town in Uttar Pradesh from which the film takes its name, Aligarh is the story of a professor (Manoj Bajpayee), who is made to quit his job for his sexuality and a young journalist (Rajkummar Rao) who tells his story to the world.
"Eros International and Hansal Mehta's much awaited critically acclaimed film Aligarh, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao, to release on February 26, 2016," a statement read.
The film received a standing ovation at its World premiere at the prestigious 20th Busan International Film Festival in October 2015. It also opened to packed houses at the 59th BFI London Film Festival. (Also Read: Aligarh Opens Mumbai Film Fest, Director Feels 'Honoured')
