Rajinikanth was last seen on the silver screen in Lingaa

South superstar Rajinikanth has signed on the dotted line for his next film, which is still waiting for a name, to be directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by S Thanu.
Two-film-old Ranjith, whose last outing was the critically-acclaimed Tamil thriller Madras, tweeted:

Shooting for the film will begin in Malaysia in August.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth, who was last seen on the silver screen in 2014's Lingaa, is also reportedly in talks with noted filmmaker Shankar, who directed him in the blockbuster Sivaji and Enthiran. Shankar last made I starring Vikram.
A source told news agency IANS, "It is not known whether Rajinikanth and Shankar are teaming up for Enthiran 2, but they are likely to come together for a project soon. Lyca, the producers of Kaththi will produce this project."
Despite his drawing power at the box office, Rajinikanth last two films - Lingaa and Kochadaiiyaan - fared poorly at the box office.
