Celebrities like Sridevi, Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor took to micro-blogging site Twitter on February 19 to express their grief on the demise of renowned film producer Daggubati Ramanaidu, noting that his "legacy will live on". (Also Read: D Ramanaidu Cremated; Sridevi, Jayaprada Say Farewell)
He was cremated with state honours at Hyderabad's Ramanaidu Studios on February 19. His son, producer Suresh Babu, lit the funeral pyre. Mr Ramanaidu's body had been placed at the studio all morning and a steady stream of actors and politicians arrived to say a final farewell to the late producer. Mr Ramanaidu, who held the record of producing films in the maximum number of Indian languages, lost his battle to cancer on February 18. He was 79. ( Daggubati Ramanaidu: Producer. Politician. Legend)
He had produced Hindi films such as Prem Nagar, Dildaar, Maqsad, Insaaf, Tohfa, Anari and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain.
