Dalljiet Kaur, after her separation from Nikhil Patel, has been raising her son Jaydon as a single parent. The actress was seen in the recently released web series Chitta Ve.
Now, in an interview with Etimes, Dalljiet Kaur opened up about her future plans in the industry.
Dalljiet Kaur said that she has decided to take a break from television as it doesn't offer her the flexibility she needs to take care of her child.
“While I cherish my roots in TV, its demanding schedule isn't feasible now as I prioritise my son Jaydon. He really needs me right now. I'm exploring projects with more flexibility, and my recent OTT show, Chitta Ve, addressing substance abuse, was in that direction and aligns with my commitment towards meaningful narratives. I am also doing a YouTube channel, which honestly started as a self-healing project," Dalljiet Kaur was quoted as saying.
The actress added, "Jaydon is proud of my work and joins me in my travels, adding joy to the journey. I am also picky about the work I accept as I model ideal behaviour for Jaydon. He understands his mommy must be a good person besides being popular, as people greet me with warmth.”
Dalljiet Kaur has also expressed her wish to do a Punjabi film. She said, “I have a dying wish of doing a good Punjabi film and I am looking out for it to happen soon. Look at where the Punjabi entertainment industry is going with its singers. Diljit is going places and what a performer he is! People who did well as Punjabis did very well pan India. I also hope to be called upon to do something good for our own region.”
Dalljiet Kaur was previously married to her Kulvaddhu co-star Shalin Bhanot, with whom she shares her son, Jaydon. The couple divorced in 2015 while Dalljiet was granted custody of their son. In 2023, the actress got married to Kenya-based businessman Nikhil Patel and announced their separation, a year later, in 2024.
