Oscar-winning filmmaker DannyBoyle is all set to be honoured with a fellowship by BritishFilm Institute next month.
He will receive the organization's highest accolade onOctober 27 during the BFI London Film Festival awardsceremony, organizers said.
The honor is given to individuals whose body of workhas made an outstanding contribution to film culture. The15-day long festival will begin October 13, the HollywoodReporter said.
Boyle, who scooped virtually every award includingeight Oscars for his Mumbai-based drama, is also on theshortlist for the festival's best film award with his truestory 127 Hours.
The film, starring James Franco, the closing movie ofthe gala, is in competition with 10 other titles includingMike Leigh's Another Year, Darren Aronofsky's Black Swanand Tom Hooper's The King's Speech.
