Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch and Andy Serkis will all voice characters in the new version of The Jungle Book
New Delhi:
What is common between Batman, Sherlock, Gollum and a young Bob Dylan? The actors who portrayed all these characters on screen at some point will come together to lend their voices to the new version of The Jungle Book movie, called The Jungle Book: Origins, which is being helmed by first time director Andy Serkis.
Actor and former Batman Christian Bale has been roped in as the voice of Bagheera the black panther.
Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch will be voicing the villainous tiger Shere Khan.
Andy Serkis, lately the voice of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films, will be lending his voice to the character of Baloo the bear, apart from directing the film.
Cate Blanchett, who played a version of Bob Dylan in 2007 film I'm Not There, will be heard playing Ka the snake. Cate also co-starred in The Lord of the Rings trilogy with Andy Serkis, playing elf queen Galadriel. (Also Read: Christopher Walken will join them)
Naomie Harris, who played Tia Dalma in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, has been cast as a wolf as has Eddie Marsan, from the Sherlock movies starring Robert Downey Jr. Indian-origin American child actor Rohan Chand will star as jungle boy Mowgli.
Produced by Warner Bros, the animated motion capture movie may just give Rudyard Kipling's epic novel a much deserved zing.
