New Delhi:

Alia Bhatt's upcoming film Darlings has been making all the right noises. From the first teaser of the film, the dark comedy-drama has piqued the interest of cinema lovers and now, the new song from Darlings titled La Ilaaj only seems to be adding to the excitement around the project. The ballad is a celebration of love but the visuals range from the joys of a new romance to the horrors of an abusive relationship. The song features Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in their element. The track begins and ends with visuals of Alia's character Badrunnisa, standing at what appears to be the cusp of two very different turns in her relationship to Vijay Varma's Hamza Shaikh.

La Ilaaj also offers a glimpse into the relationship between Badrunnisa and her mother, played by Shefali Shah, and the silent solidarity shared between the two women.

The melody has been composed by filmmaker-composer Vishal Bhardwaj. The lyrics have been penned by Gulzar. While Arijit Singh has sung La Ilaaj, Vishal Bhardwaj has also been credited for the chorus alongside Debarpito Saha.

On Tuesday, Alia Bhatt shared a glimpse of the song on Instagram with the caption, “From our heart to yours.”
