Matt Damon (Left) in a still from The Martian and Tom Hanks (Right) in Apollo 13.
New Delhi:
Well, Matt Damon. Tom Hanks is 'jealous' that you got to go to Mars and he didn't even make it as far as the Moon.
So jealous.
And because the responses are as awesome as the tweet itself, here are a few:
Matt Damon stars as an astronaut stranded on the Red Planet after a mission to Mars goes wrong in Ridley Scott's hotly-anticipated The Martian, October's big movie. Tom Hanks, 59, has also been to space in 1995's Apollo 13, based on the aborted 1970 moon landing. Unlike Matt's character, Mr Hanks never reached his destination after an explosion cut off the oxygen and electricity on-board Apollo 13. In both films, however, NASA works to bring their astronauts home safely. (Also Read: Ridley Scott Has Known About the Water on Mars For 'Months')
Tom Hanks has clearly been itching to complete his space mission. Too bad Matt Damon got there before him. (Also Read: Matt Damon, Father of Four, 'Could Use Some Time Alone on Mars' )
The Martian, the release of which coincides with NASA's discovery of water on Mars, features an impressive ensemble cast of Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Kate Mara, Sean Bean and Michael Pena. It opens this week.
So jealous.
I am so jealous of Matt Damon getting this role over me. Hanx pic.twitter.com/9MxVnkNnW2
