Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone and celebrity yoga and holistic wellness expert Anshuka Parwani have collaborated for a “self-care month series”. Taking about asanas and their importance, Anshuka said, “Yoga is the union of mind, body, and soul.” From cat/cow pose to the pigeon (kapotasana) asana, Deepika, who is known for her fitness regime, is seen performing a range of exercises under Anshuka's supervision in the video. In a post shared by Anshuka and Deepika's Skincare brand 82°E on Instagram, the two said that they have “specially created this Wake Up yoga routine to help the community feel energised every morning.”
“Many people think yoga is about sweating it out on the mat. But it's about an internal makeover, not just an external makeover,” the caption quoted Anshuka Parwani as saying.
In a follow up video, Anshuka and Deepika Padukone showed the “Wind Down yoga” routine for breathing and relaxation.
The video opens with Deepika sitting in a meditation pose. She is performing the bhramari breath asana. Next, the actress is seen in viparita karani pose. Highlighting the benefits, Anshuka said, “This asana will give you an absolutely amazing sleep. You will feel like you have slept like a baby.”
Sharing the video, Anshuka said, “Yoga and breathwork tap into the parasympathetic nervous system which kicks in our “rest and relax” state, and also releases a lot of endorphins which are your happy hormones. It also helps to balance our endocrine system which helps us sleep better, and makes us feel more productive and refreshed in a holistic manner.”
Anshuka added that the “Wind Down PM” routine can be practiced “by anyone even when they're lying down in bed.”
Talking about the routines and the benefits, Anshuka added, “We have designed these routines to be really simple to follow, yet effective enough that you will feel a difference after the first time. If you approach it with an open mind and do these every day for a week, I promise that you're going to end up doing it all the time.
Deepika Padukone will be next seen in Fighter.
