Deepika Padukone recently praised Kangana Ranaut's style in an interview
New Delhi:
In the claws-out world of Bollywood, the unheard of has happened. One actress has praised another.
Deepika Padukone recently praised Kangana Ranaut's style in an interview and said, "My all-time-favourite is Audrey Hepburn. Her style was classic and elegant but at the same time not very blingy. Back home, I like Kangana Ranaut's style. "
Compare this to Sonam Kapoor who trashed Deepika's wardrobe on Koffee With Karan.
Kangana is currently Queen of both the box office and the fashion stakes, with her style having evolved over the years. Now, she rarely ever puts a fashion foot wrong. Kangana said a while back, "I would like to be known as an elegant lady one day. Someone who is well dressed."
Deepika Padukone, also much admired on red carpets, said about her own closet: "My personal style is classic, simple and elegant. I have never been someone who has accessorised a lot."
But Bollywood being Bollywood, we have to wonder if Deepika was being genuine or if her praise disguised a barb directed at Sonam who said on national television, "Deepika's not a clotheshorse, she doesn't have her own style.
Deepika may have just wanted to make it clear - diplomatically - that she doesn't like Sonam's style either.
