Ramleela is expected to release on November 15, 2013.
New Delhi:
If you were missing the celluloid spectacle that is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, look no further than his latest offering Ramleela, the trailer of which released today. The grand sets, lavish costumes and foot tapping folk melodies - the key ingredients in a typical Bhansali recipe - form a colourful backdrop for lead actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who play characters reportedly based on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Set in rural Gujarat, the trailer is explosive and violent, packed with images of guns and abrasive language. Amid this setting, there's no tip-toeing around for mustachio-d Ranveer Singh and 'wild child' Deepika Padukone, who engage in a courtship both comic and aggressive by turns.
The gun shots and mesmerising dance sequences are helped along by the sizzling chemistry between rumoured real-life couple Deepika and Ranveer. Ramleela might just fetch Deepika a hattrick at the box office this year, close on the heels of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express, if the film lives up to the promise of its trailer.
Ramleela is slated to release on November 15, 2013.
