Deepika Padukone wears many hats efficiently. She is an actress, producer, entrepreneur and mental health activist. The superstar, who looks like she is ready for world domination, has now added another feather to her already crowded cap. The multi-hyphenate will be seen at the Cannes Film Festival in May not as a L'Oreal ambassador (as she has done previously) but as a member of the jury. The jury for the 75th edition of the prestigious film festival, which was unveiled on Tuesday, is headed by French actor Vincent Lindon. The jury will award the Palme d'Or honours at the closing of the film festival which will be held from May 17 to May 28.
As Deepika Padukone does India proud yet again, we think now is as good a time as any to decode some of Deepika Padukone's best fashion moments on the Cannes red carpet.
One of Deepika Padukone's most iconic fashion moments from her Cannes lookbook is the 2018 fuchsia pink Ashi Studio dress. The outfit features several tiers of ruffles and exaggerated sleeves. The actress paired the gown with a sleek top knot and loud pink-purple pumps. Needless to say, the look presented the Internet with a jaw-drop moment like no other.
Another look that broke the Internet was the 2019 tulle lime green gown by Giambattista Valli. The actress added a unique twist to the look by pairing it with a pink headscarf, dewy makeup and her million-dollar smile.
The same year, she also graced the red carpet in a stunning Peter Dundas gown. The white gown features a thigh-high slit, exaggerated shoulders and an oversized bow that added an edge to the outfit. She complemented the look with statement earrings, a sleek high ponytail, nude lips and winged under-liner.
In 2018, Deepika Padukone lent an ethereal glow to the Cannes red carpet as she stepped out in a Zuhair Murad lace creation. The white and nude-toned gown with flowing cape sleeves was fitted to complement Deepika's toned physique. She left her hair open in soft waves and opted for glossy makeup.
Deepika Padukone also stunned fans and fashionistas at Cannes in 2017 in a deep green one-shoulder gown. She went with her trusted sleek high bun look with dark, winged eye makeup.
The same year, she was also seen in a burgundy Marchesa gown. The ensemble features sequin embellishment and sheer detailing. The outfit was matched with mauve-tone makeup.
With Deepika Padukone being inducted into the Cannes jury for 2022, she joins the select group of Indian actors to have served on the film festival's jury such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Nandita Das and Vidya Balan.
