A picture of Deepika Padukone and Hollywood actor Vin Diesel sent fans in a tizzy soon after the actress shared it on social media in December. Everyone thought that Deepika, who was earlier offered a role in Mr Diesel's Fast & Furious franchise, may be finally collaborating with the actor.
Although Deepika had not confirmed the news officially, but in December, she told NDTV: "What do I say, as far as the film is concerned, only time will tell."
However, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage director DJ Caruso confirmed the news in a tweet during a chat session with his fans.

He said that they will start filming the xXx sequel on January 13:
Fans however, thought that Deepika will also join the cast next week:

When NDTV had asked Deepika about Vin Diesel, she said: "He's a friend and someone I'm extremely fond of. More than anything else he is an amazing person. But about everything else, which everyone wants to know, you'll know soon."
